The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) requires new construction, additions and renovations to adhere to the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS).  Projects with a construction cost of 50,000 and over are required to be registered through the TDLR Architectural Barriers System (TABS). A plan review of the construction documents and an inspection of the facility must be completed by a Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS). Projects under 50,000 are not required to be registered but are still required to be compliant with TAS.

    1. Complete TAS Project Registration Form. Form shall be completely filled out or cannot be accepted per TAS 68.12.

    2. Complete Designated Agent Form (Required when any project forms are signed by someone other than the Owner)

    3. Complete Proof of Submission  Form (required by architects, registered interior designers, landscape architects and engineers with overall responsibility of the design of a building or facility)

    4. Email TAS Project Registration Form, Designated Agent Form (if applicable) , and Proof of Submission Form (if applicable) to dawn@designstudio.space

    5. Make payment in full prior to project registration

      NOTE: If someone other that Design Studio registers your project, when prompted for RAS, enter Dawn Schexneider RAS # 1385

    1. Project must be registered before plan review can be completed.

    4. Make payment in full prior to plan review.

    4. Make payment in full prior to project inspection.

      Note: Inspections during construction is offered as an additional service during construction, it is not not required by TDLR but inspections after construction are required by TDLR.

    1. Complete Inspection Response Form and return within 30 days of the inspection (required by TAS 68.52)
